ARCAmazon is currently focused on protecting Las Piedras, an important watershed in Peru's south eastern Amazon. Working together with hundreds of volunteers, as well as local community members, we are building the Las Piedras Amazon Center (LPAC), monitoring wildlife and biodiversity, and protecting thousands of hectares of primary rainforest. Through ARCAmazon's local and international alliances, including those with native communities in Las Piedras, we aim to offer sustainable livelihoods for local people through responsible ecotourism, sustainable rainforest products and services, agroforestry/analog forestry, reforestation, PES/REDD+, education programs, media awareness and technology innovation.
