CONTECHS
Contechs was founded in Essex in 1997. Its initial focus was on CAD work and the supply of contract labour to Ford Motor Company and a number of automotive suppliers. It achieved steady, organic growth, extending its engineering services and making a series of strategic business acquisitions. It opened its current office in Basildon in 2002, by which time it had added Materials Handling programs to its portfolio. In 2003 it acquired the Hawtal Whiting business and brand from Wagon Group plc, a Tier 1 supplier of Design and Engineering and Recruitment services to Jaguar Land Rover. Opportunities with Jaguar Land Rover prompted the opening of additional premises in Warwick in the West Midlands in 2002. These premises also provide the base for Contechs Trimming which was established in 2006. This division of the business has grown successfully, moving from the marine sector to provide extensive services to automotive clients. Contechs has leveraged its experience in Design & Engineering programs and its recruitment of skilled people to expand into new areas, notably in applying a full product design and engineering strategy to the production of bespoke Materials Handling racking systems. Contechs continues to grow, having achieved consistent sales growth since its foundation. It benefits from established relationships with key clients and from a wide range of clear service offerings. Its objective is to expand its business by consolidating, improving and advancing the range of services it has successfully established.
