The Corbet School

The Corbet School

The Corbet School has a robust system of policies and procedures that ensure the safeguarding and welfare of our pupils and we employ safer recruitment procedures and are accredited to the Safer School Initiative. We have an efficient and effective route for pupils, staff and parents to communicate concerns or complaints. Senior staff are trained to a high level to deal with safeguarding issues and we have a dedicated school counsellor who works in collaboration with other support services including CHAT, School Nurse, Multi Agency Teams and looked After Children's Services. Under the Education Act of 2002 all members of staff have a duty to pass on any Child Protection Concerns to designated members of staff. The lead Child Protection Officer in School is Mrs Millward. Other Child protection trained staff (Level 2) are Mr Adams, Miss Bamford, Mr Hartshorn, Mrs Hussein, Mr Simms and Mr Rendell. All other Corbet staff receive Level 1 Child Protection training every three years. Our priority is to keep pupils safe so that they can thrive in a safe and happy environment. The school aims to help parents understand that the school, like all others, has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils. The school may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a pupils welfare.
