Core Pilates NYC

Core Pilates NYC is a full service Pilates studio and teacher training center, which is recognized by the Pilates Method Alliance. Leaders in the classical Pilates method, our studio offers private and semi-private apparatus sessions, as well as a variety of daily group mat classes. Established in 2002, Core Pilates NYC has a staff of over 12 instructors and more than 21 weekly classes for Pilates enthusiasts of all levels at the New York City location and 6 instructors and a large selection of classes at the new Los Angeles location. Core has been featured in numerous publications including Self Magazine, Pilatesstyle, Women's Health, Time Out, New York Magazine, and MetroSports as well as on Bravo's hit show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The studio was chosen to be the Pilates expert in a column for the newly launched women's web portal Ceslie.com. Core Pilates NYC is owned and directed by Michelle Fama and Kim Villanueva, both long time practitioners of Classical Pilates who got trained as teachers of the Pilates Method together in New York City under the tutelage of Bob Liekens at Power Pilates. They bring over 15 years of combined movement expertise to their studio and teacher training program including dance, yoga, and more interesting disciplines like rock climbing, and trapeze! "After working with Kim and Michelle, I feel confident that I can teach mat Pilates to a wide range of clients. Their dual-teaching style during the course really reinforced the learning process and made it fun and inspirational."
