Cyberwalker

So you are probably wondering who Cyberwalker is and why is he/she/it is giving all this content away for free. Well, it's a long story, but it all started in 1995 when journalist Andy Walker started writing a weekly Q&A tech column in the Edmonton Journal newspaper in Alberta, Canada. Peter Collum, one of Canada's top technology editors, was looking for a name for the new column. A play on a technology word - Cyber - with Andy's last name "Walker" made sense. And so Cyberwalker was born. As the technology advertising market sagged, the economy forced the papers to discontinue the Cyberwalker column in 2001. In 1997, Andy moved to Toronto, Ontario (also in Canada) and after a stint at Microsoft with MSN.ca, he decided to focus on technology writing full-time. Today his work appears worldwide in print and on Canadian television. In late 1998, he joined forces with creative business manager Carolyn V. Mill, who has managed and nurtured some big names in the Toronto entertainment scene. Carolyn stayed with Cyberwalker Media until July 2001. Together they created Cyberwalker Media, a content syndicate. The unique company provides quality technology news, reviews, features and the flagship Cyberwalker column to newspapers, magazines and dotcoms around the world. Today Andy runs this site and co-hosts the TV show Call for Help with Leo Laporte and Amber MacArthur. Andy is also the author the Absolute Beginner's Guide to Security, Spam Spyware and Viruses. The site is provided free of charge as a service to the Internet community and new and experienced users everywhere.
