Dakota Capital focuses on emerging opportunities in core IT infrastructure, including: networking, mobile and wireless communications, enabling technologies and Internet infrastructure. The Fund invests in early and growth stage companies that have strong management teams and are on course to become leaders in their respective market segments. Dakota's philosophy is simple: Invest in solid, entrepreneurial companies and then work hard alongside the entrepreneurs to help them become successful. We target entrepreneurs who have the unparalleled character, drive and passion to build a world class company and we look for products which bear a strong innovation potential. We understand the nature of start-ups and believe without this entrepreneurial spirit, it does not matter how much capital a company raises. Once we identify these companies, we commit all of our resources to help them become successful. We believe in providing more than just capital to a company. We provide our entrepreneurs access to our networks and then we work those networks to best support our companies. We spend a disproportionate amount of our time meeting with, working with and supporting our entrepreneurs in order to position all of our portfolio companies with the best chance for success. We draw upon our deep operating experience to help our entrepreneurs learn from our past accomplishments and thereby work smarter. We have an international market perspective on each investment project. Through our international network, we have access to strategic resources in the US, Europe and Asia thus opening doors to new markets for our portfolio companies. Our fund size allows us to invest in fewer deals per partner, while still maintaining enough capital to support these companies. This model allows us to dedicate our time to our portfolio companies and, as a result, has helped us generate a very high success rate over the last decade.
