Our story begins in 1973 when Dale Koontz began his custom home building company with just one employee. Dale was already an experienced carpenter who brought high standards, professional integrity and attention to detail to every job, large or small. Dale's strong emphasis on quality and service are the foundation of our company today. And every member of our team shares his values. Dale's first employee, Dave Tieman, continues to be an integral member of our team of true craftsmen, people who have a passion for excellence in the work they do. They provide a wide range of experience to effectively handle the challenges and opportunities that today's fantastic custom home plans can present. Where Dale was an experienced carpenter who learned about business, his sons are businessmen, both with degrees from the University of Illinois, who have learned the homebuilding trade from their father. Tim Koontz, President, and Scott Koontz, Secretary/Treasurer, have helped move Dale Koontz Builder into the 21st century, while maintaining the integrity, solid craftsmanship and strong customer communications a home buyer demands and deserves.
