Darley Stud Management

At Darley, foals are born and raised before they go to a racing stable to learn how to run fast. The best male racehorses will come back to Darley to become stallions. The females, or mares, will come here to have foals of their own, who will hopefully one day race too. Many Champion racehorses have been born here. To find out where the name Darley came from, have a look at our history section. Since 2005, Darley have been organising visits for schools and various other groups to come to the stud and see how it all works. In 2011 we had 1,000 visitors who came to have a behind the scenes look at the business of a stud farm. This included the chance to see some of the famous racehorses who are now stallions and meeting some of the foals.
