Darmstadt

Founded in 1946, the Darmstadt Summer Courses are summer academy, discussion forum, and festival all in one. Almost 400 young composers, performers, sound artists, and academics from over 50 countries gather in Darmstadt for this event every two years. The 25 premiere events will explore the performance requisites for contemporary music and introduce new forms of presentation. PERFORMING MATTERS not only marks 55 years of the interpretation of New Music: it also shapes the ideas and visions of the future.
