Delfast

The business originated in 2014 from the Delfast 1-hour delivery service based in Kyiv, the goal of which was to deliver any product to any part of the city within an hour using an efficient and eco-friendly vehicle. The first electric bike for the delivery services was shipped from China to Ukraine in 2014. Although, the e-bikes on the market could only offer the range limited to 35 km or 22 mi on average, while the Delfast couriers had to overcome more than 150 km or 90 mi per day. Thus, with no alternative out there, Delfast decided to take the initiative and started experimenting with the e-bikes. The initial goal was to make efficient electric bikes for Delfast delivery guys. The team began studying the capacities of the electric bikes and thus searching for the ways of improvement. Almost every element of the e-bike from the engine to the kickstand has been changed multiple time within the 3 years. Eventually, Delfast constructed their very own electric bike from scratch, which happened to be an excellent tech masterpiece. Right from the start, Delfast was associated with speed, innovation and persistence. After numerous attempts of enhancements, sometimes successful, sometimes not, the team found themselves making the electric bike with quite long range on the single charge. What they did not know at that moment yet - how long it can go for. After the trial it was clear that with the Delfast Prime model the one can drive for 370 km or 230 mi with no pedal assist. With that, on 12th of October, 2017 the Prime model set the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance traveled on an electric bicycle on a single charge. Delfast decided to announce the new electric bike business by launching the Kickstarter campaign. The goal of $50,000 was reached in one day with further campaign emmassing $165,000. As proclaimed by international media "It's more than Tesla 3", the company's Prime electric bike managed to reach the explosive rates of success on Kickstarter.
