Delhi Garden Club
The Delhi Garden Club (DGC) was established in 1941. From meager beginnings with twelve or thirteen members, it has grown to a membership of 38. The early emphasis was on flower arranging, hosting flower shows, and working on the Cleanest City competition. The Town of Delhi garnered numerous district and regional titles and two state titles. Over the years, the focus has shifted to one of community service. DGC worked to secure a vacant lot which was subsequently donated to the Town of Delhi. Members transformed the lot into the Thompson-Anding Plaza. They sold memorial bricks to line the raised flower beds, and erected a pergola. Crepe myrtles and roses abound. Other beautification projects have been undertaken throughout the town. DGC has been working with the Mayor and Town Council over the last two years cleaning up the abandoned buildings and mobile homes. The members continue to perform volunteer work for the Town of Delhi to aid in its beautification efforts and make our community a more attractive and appealing place.
