Deraya University

Deraya was created in 2010 through Presidential decree number 91. It is supervised and regulated by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education. Governmental oversight is provided through the Council of Private Universities which is chaired by the minister. Deraya has also obtained affiliate status with the American Association of Liberal Education. Deraya also plans to seek further accreditation from relevant international bodies. This will ensure that Deraya meets internationally recognized benchmarks related to academic content, on-going monitoring and assessments, faculty credentials, as well as financial health. Deraya's team of expert consultants in Egypt and established international universities are spearheading this effort. The aim of such an accreditation is to facilitate cooperation between Deraya and established international universities in areas including: student exchange, faculty training, curriculum development, research and faculty twinning.
