Design Air

Design Air, founded in 1972, is a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Oil Co., Inc. From our humble beginning in a 1,000 square foot location in Combined Locks, Wisconsin, Design Air relocated to Kimberly, WI in 1974 where today the headquarters serve the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan markets. In 1989, Green Bay, Wisconsin became the second location and a third location was added in West Allis, Wisconsin in 1995. An Iron Mountain, Michigan location was added in 1997 enabling the company to offer on-site inventory and support throughout Eastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Design Air acquired Schwab Furnace Company located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1999, opened a new warehouse in Wausau, WI in 2003, and opened our Madison, WI warehouse in 2004 bringing our current locations to seven outlets with over 150,000 square feet combined space to serve Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. 1983 was a decision making year that forged Design Air's future. As our name implies, Design Air is in the business of designing air systems and solutions for the commercial and residential application. "We have built our business around our design services, but because of our product and supply strength we are able to meet the requirements of the majority of HVAC professionals" said Terry Grissman, General Manager. "We have a staff of design engineers in multiple locations to assist our customers needs". The design engineers work with architects and HVAC contractors in the design of systems, provide energy calculations and assist in state approval requirements. At Design Air each department is a team and each team is specialized for maximum customer support. The sales team is comprised of inside and outside sales professionals who work in tandem to provide the best and most efficient customer service possible. To support the sales effort, product specialists are available to our customers for technical assistance. Product managers specialize in knowing the 'particulars' of product lines such as Rheem, WeatherKing, FHP, Crown, Utica, Triangle Tube, Modine, Hi-Velocity, Venmar, Empire, Sanyo, Space-Ray, Modine & more. Additional product managers specialize in parts and supplies since Design Air offers over 380 product lines stocking over 18,000 parts. Continuous improvement is the method of operation at Design Air. We strive to do things better; to be the wholesaler of choice for HVAC contractors. Design Air's training department provides schooling and seminars to provide our customers up-to-date information on products, service, application and business management. Design Air employees participate in programs that include product and customer service training. These programs are designed to help both our Design Air associates and our valued customers. We invite you to give us a try, we would like the opportunity to assist you in your success.
