DesignOffice is an architectural and interior design practice committed to delivering lucid and authentic creative responses to client needs and personalities. The Melbourne-based studio was originally founded in 2008 by Mark Simpson and Damien Mulvihill as the Australian office of London-based Universal Design Studio. In 2011, DesignOffice was born and now sits as an Australian-owned sister company to the London practice. Since formation, DesignOffice has worked across a range of sectors delivering projects for clients including Mud Australia, Corporate Culture, Bendigo Art Gallery, Kalex, Palace Cinemas, Baker & McKenzie and the Molonglo Group. Now based in Collingwood, Damien and Mark lead a talented team of interior designers and architects at DesignOffice creating spaces and buildings for a range of residential, retail, hospitality and public building projects. Universal Design Studio was formed in London in 2001 by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to augment their award-winning product and furniture design studio: BarberOsgerby. Mark and Damien worked as part of the senior design team in Universal's London studio between 2003 and 2007. Over it's 10 year history, Universal have worked with a range of international clients including Stella McCartney, Liberty of London, H&M, Natural History Museum and Mulberry.
