With digitalSTROM, digitalSTROM AG offers a Smart Home Technology for every home. Its application is intuitive and easy to install, the technology communicates via the existing power lines and networks all electronic devices and well as broad-band devices. In 2001, digitalSTROM emerged from an idea of giving electrical devices their own intelligence and networking them with one-another in an economical and ergonomic manner. For the further development and distribution of digitalSTROM, in 2004 both inventors Wilfried Beck and Ludger Hovestadt founded the company aizo AG together with Anita Beck and Katharina Schroeder-Boersch. After a development phase of seven years and a conceptional cooperation with the ETH Zurich, it was introduced to the market in 2011. Today, the German - Swiss company with head office in Zurich-Schlieren (CH) markets the innovative product for intelligent living in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Being involved in individual projects, today digitalSTROM is also active in most other European countries. At the German location in Wetzlar, digitalSTROM GmbH develops parts of the hardware components with their software. The main shareholder and administrative board is the successful and well known Swiss property developer, Balz Halter. digitalSTROM AG is managed by the CEO Martin Vesper. In order to merge the company, brand and product with one-another even more, from the 1st January 2014, aizo AG changed its name to digitalSTROM AG. The Smart Home System stands for digital lifestyle and a holistic networking concept.
