Dingle Hub
The Dingle Creativity and Innovation Hub (Dingle Hub) offers workspace with high speed connectivity and co-working facilities to start-up and established enterprises and community sectors on the Dingle Peninsula. We recognise that in a remote location like Dingle, more than simply providing workspace is required to attract high skilled employment to the area and so we aim to foster opportunities, through collaborative projects, to improve core skills, assist learning new skills and help develop entrepreneurship. The Dingle Hub supports community projects in the broad area of the transition to a low carbon society and this involves a number of test and trial networks for Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, bioenergy projects and the ESB Networks Dingle Project www.esbnetworks.ie/dingle We work closely with the local community, state agencies, public bodies and higher education institutes to identify, fund and deliver these projects and so communication with all of these stakeholders is key. By creating a community that engages continuously in education, learning and upskilling; by being supportive of innovation, through learning about the future societal changes and using Test and Trial Networks to explore solutions; by facilitating effective engagement between the community, public bodies and private companies wishing to co-develop workable solutions for these challenges; and by encouraging the young people to believe that they can live and work in their local community at some time in the future, doing work that is both rewarding and challenging; it should be possible to support the creation of a significant number of high quality, sustainable jobs that will guarantee the economic and social development of the community on the Dingle Peninsula.
