Discovery School is a not-for-profit school. Tuition dollars do not meet the annual cost of educating the students and operating the facilities, therefore it is necessary to raise additional money through fundraising. Discovery has chosen to try to keep tuition costs reasonable and to have fundraisers to cover the additional expenses. All Discovery School fundraisers must be approved by the Board of Governors. All families are encouraged to participate in all fundraisers to the best of their abilities. The Board of Governors hosts two major fundraisers a year. They are the Annual Giving Campaign and the Spring Auction. The money raised from these two events helps Discovery School with everything from technology to scholarships, building maintenance to faculty salaries. These events are extremely important to our school and help us to ensure we are providing a safe, well-maintained building that houses the most advanced technology taught by the most qualified, passionate teaching staff. In addition to these two fundraisers, students may participate in one fundraiser a year to help raise money specifically for field trips and other experiential educational expenses.
