DIU is committed to providing knowledge, wisdom, and skills relevant to employment opportunities to the youth, and especially the disadvantaged, of Northwest Cambodia, based on the twin pillars of research and community service. The motto of DIU shall be "Learning by Doing", as the university will provide a wide range of activities and projects in which students will participate actively to gain skills in problem solving and critical thinking. New Programs at DIU: DIU is the only university in Cambodia to offer the following programs: One-year Employment-oriented Diploma courses to help Cambodians find jobs. Hybrid Online English courses, where students can learn English interactively over the internet, supervised by an experienced teacher. Employment Placement Office, which keeps student records and puts students in contact with local employers to find good jobs. Computerized Accounting courses, where students learn accounting principles through the most widely used and up-to-date accounting software programs.
