CUE aims to promote travel and tourism opportunities in Colombia that are sustainable, equitable, participatory, and founded upon a shared responsibility to foster sustainable tourism principles. Our business approach aims to support and be informed by knowledge, understanding, adoption, and demand for sustainable tourism practices. Moreover, it aims to be interdisciplinary, holistic, integrative, and informed by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council's four guiding sustainability objectives: to demonstrate effective sustainable management; to maximize social and economic benefits to the local community; to enhance benefits to cultural heritage; and to reduce negative impacts to the environment. CUE further recognizes its responsibility as a business to respect human rights, as clarified in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights regarding the UN 'Protect, Respect, Remedy' Framework (UNGPs). Our work aims to respect and proactively foster the UN's guiding principles on human rights within our sphere of influence, especially the rights of the most vulnerable of our society. We seek to avoid complicity in human and environmental rights abuses and to further develop appropriate response mechanisms through our ongoing business practices.
