Mr. Ritz has been engaged in residential design for more than twenty-five years. His practice focuses on both waterfront sites and historic design, ranging from sensitively designed additions and renovations to new single and multi-family homes. His projects can be found all over the South Shore and Eastern Massachusetts including Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Scituate, Norwell, Marshfield, Duxbury, Pembroke, and Weymouth. Don works closely with his clients and the contractor to create an architectural space worthy of their aspirations. He is acutely aware of his clients budgetary needs and works to create within them. Don is thoughtful in his approach, knowledgeable in his experience and energetic in his execution. on is a graduate of Cornell University. He is a registered Architect in Massachusetts. He has studied urban design in London at the Architectural Association. Don also taught at Wentworth Institute of Technology and the Boston Architectural Center. Don Ritz Architect has historical architecture as its main focus, with projects ranging from technical preservation to sensitively designed new additions. Don Ritz is active in the preservation, restoration, and the adaptive reuse of historic architecture for more than twenty five years. Work by Don has been published in Waterfront Homes: From Castles to Cottages, as well as, Old House Journal, HGTV, Boston Globe, and featured on the "New England Dream House" (NECN). Mr. Ritz has also been instrumental in establishing and chairing the Hull Historic District Commission since 1994. He is extremely knowledgeable with the historic regulatory review process. Don has been a member of the Hull Design Review Board for over twelve years. During which time he has examined many projects for design compatibility with the local community.
