Dore Designs, Inc. is located in sunny, tropical Southwest Florida. Founded by Dorothy Salcedo in the late 1970's so that her son could be dressed for his career with Fred Astaire Dance Studios, it started small in her guest bedroom in quaint Cape Coral. As local dancers realized that Carlos Salcedo was the best dressed dancer in the area, Dorothy became recognized as the fashion source for Ballroom attire. The company quickly grew into a new space with several wonderful employees and Dorothy's knowledge of fine design and fabrics made Dore a nationally recognized name in Ballroom fashion. Today we are grateful that several of those employees are still with us over 30 years later. The company's mission has remained the same, cutting edge fashion, the finest of fabrics and unsurpassed quality of construction to produce the best Ballroom, Skating, Pageant and Evening Gowns available in the United States and beyond. Our staff has grown to over 25 in-house and our space is now a spacious 6000+ sq ft. We are still located in Cape Coral, happy for sunshine and tropical breezes. In 2007, the company was purchased by Dawn Smart. Dawn had been a sales representative with Dore since 1999 and had been active in the Ballroom Dance business and the gown business for over 10 years prior to joining Dore. Her solid background in sewing construction, sales and the dance industry brought a new perspective to the company, which experienced immediate growth. Dore is now the industry leader in the United States for Ballroom fashion and as a company, we are very excited to be a part of "So You Think You Can Dance", a dance reality tv show, "Musical Chairs", a movie being released in 2012, and the Swarovski-USA Dance project kicked off at the 2011 USA Dance Nationals. The company sponsors 35 Professional and Amateur Couples in the US and Canada. As our dancers navigate the world, our dresses can be seen around the globe on World Champions, Finalists and most importantly, the dancer excitedly and hesitantly, dancing their first steps in a competion. As we look forward to our future, we want our customers and fans to know that we will continue to bring the best of fabrics available (when possible produced in the US) and use exclusively Swarovski Crystals.
