Dorset Orthopaedic has been supplying a private orthotic service since the official opening of its first clinic in Hampshire, in 2001. This service now extends to our other clinics. Our orthotists deal with patients suffering with a multitude of conditions including spinal injuries, peripheral neuropathy, MS, Polio, stroke, Cerebral Palsy and sports injuries to name but a few. Our orthotists are experienced in prescribing and fitting all types of traditional and complex orthotic devices. Our solutions range from simple biomechanical insoles that change weight-bearing characteristics during standing and walking, through to more complex knee ankle foot orthoses (KAFOs), manufactured from ultra-lightweight materials and incorporating electrode knee lock/stride controllers. Most orthotic devices are custom made for individual patients - taking into account their particular challenges and requirements.
