DreamWalk Apps

DreamWalk was just two brothers (Joe and Sam Russell) and an innovative treasure hunt app they designed and developed from their bedrooms called DreamWalk. It was the world’s first commercial GPS treasure hunt app and it caused quite a stir in Australia and the US. On the back of DreamWalk’s success, Joe and Sam formed a company and began making mobile and web apps for other people. They called the company DreamWalk, in honor of the little app that started it all. With a small team of developers and designers, Joe and Sam spent the next couple of years working on mobile projects for the likes of Coca-Cola, New Mexico Tourism and Melbourne University among others, until 2012 when their company was acquired by Wellcom Group Limited (WLL). In early 2014 the Russell brothers bought DreamWalk back from Wellcom Group and are now branching out into new areas such as mobile games. The same passion for innovation drives the company now, as has since it was run out of two bedrooms. DreamWalk - The Mobile Treasure Hunt Within two weeks of launch in the US, the DreamWalk app was featured by Apple as New and Noteworthy and was downloaded by over 60,000 treasure hunters in New York, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Over the three month US trial, over 200 brands and retailers added over 4,000 ‘treasures’ to the DreamWalk map for hunters to collect. The DreamWalk app is no longer available on the App store but variations thereof have since been developed for Pump Water and New Mexico Tourism.
