School of Modern Skills

Founded in 2006, The School of Modern Skills (SMS) is a private school for internationally-minded families residing around the Dubai area where we are located. We are a family oriented school welcoming students from all cultures and religions. We offer an adapted and customized US Curriculum based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science. The Ministry of Education program is used for Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies. We aim to provide learning opportunities that appropriately challenge every child, allowing them to happily learn in a safe and caring environment. Our well-qualified staff endeavors to utilize the best pedagogical practices to provide students with a wide range of opportunities for success both inside and outside the classroom. Through these means, SMS aims to, to prepare students for the future and to inspire in them a lifelong love for learning. We are proud of the way we have successfully been able to promote international teaching and learning methods (Through our Teacher Development Program) alongside promoting and celebrating the traditions and core values derived from our strong links with the culture of the Emirates. The school has graduated four groups of its students both Girls and Boys, where they have joined local and international colleges and universities for their undergraduate studies, such as United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology, University of Sharjah and The American University in Sharjah, where a group of them has been selected to study in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia through scholarship programs offered by ADNOC, Etihad Airways, Dubai Police and DEWA.
