Dubrovnik AIRLINE , has entered the 4th year of operating in full speed. During the three previous years we managed to build the well organized and successful company as basis for the further development, maintaining the high standards that we set up. The Dubrovnik Airline was planning to purchase the 6th plane and add it to its fleet after the necessary preparations. However, due to the delay in delivery of the sixth airplane, which could not be delivered in agreed period of time by the side of the USA partner, Dubrovnik Airline canceled its purchase. Namely, the 6th airplane which was planned for the fleet reinforcement in this season could not be delivered until 01.08.08 what changes its efficiency for this season. Therefore , we decided to cancel its purchase and to cover this season's requirements by increasing the traffic of the existing 5 planes. The Dubrovnik Airline plans on keeping the same number of planes for the next season because this year's growth of fuel prices as well as the global economy crisis (tourism and air industry being the most sensitive ) require an extreme caution in business planning and risk reducing. For the time being we are operating with five McDonnell Douglas planes which have the capacity of 167 passengers and the maximum range of 4635 km with an average speed rate of 811km/h, which is ideal for the charter passenger transport. Furthermore, the Dubrovnik Airline has recently ended the training process of the first group of experienced copilots into captains, who showed to be capable and mature for the demanding position of a plane captain through the consistent and quality work in the company. Simultaneously, the company employed a new group of co-pilots trainees, and educated them for MD-80, in order to close the circle of quality training of its own crew from the first steps in the flying business. Last year, the Dubrovnik Airlines became the only charter company who passed the demanding IOSA audit. In the summer season of 2008 we start a new program and flights, including the first Dubrovnik ? Zagreb charter flight once a week, approaching in that way even more to our passengers and offering the service of transport connection between Dubrovnik and the capital of Croatia.
