Dundrum House Hotel

Dundrum Hotel is a big rambling hotel with lots of corridors and wings, the teens/kids had a great time investigating and hanging out. The hotel is laid back and family friendly which was one of the reasons we loved it. Our guests were very happy with the accomodation. My brother rented a cottage close to the ballroom so they could easily go over and back with kids. The accomodation prices were affordable, this was an important consideration for us when choosing the hotel. The Bridal suite is a beautiful big room with a huge comfy bed, sitting area and bathroom, and we were very comfortable there. The night before the wedding, the extended family and friends from Dublin and US met in the Golf Club for food and drinks - there was a great atmosphere and build up of excitment for the next day with lots of country hospitality for the visitors. On the big day, Deirdre was there on our arrival from the church. After all the decision making around the reception food etc, we didnt even get the chance to eat! We were so busy chatting and getting pics taken. The bar had a fantastic atmosphere, the reception rooms were great for mingling and one of my favourite parts of the day was listening to the buzz of our guests enjoying a drink in the bar and having our family photos taken in the big reception room which has tons of character and photographed beautifully. The highlight of the day for us was our entrance into the ballroom for dinner. Deirdre knew how much I loved candles and had the red carpet lined with them for our entrance.
