Durespo

Durespo was founded in 1974. His founder had worked in the textile industry for 23 years, but for a long time, he had the dream of creating his own business. With only two people, US$6,000 and the help of his wife and their children, the import business started in a small office in downtown Medellin, Colombia. Within a year, Durespo became the German company Andreas Sthil exclusive distributor for Colombia. Soon after that, they imported the first chainsaws and from there, they learned the business: building markets, geting dealers, studying the operation of the chainsaws, training the technicians, maintaining the equipments, and of course building trust in their new company. Growing the business was not easy, but with the profound commitment and optimisim of its founder, and with the growing dealer networks, Durespo attracted new manufacturers from around the world. For almost 40 years, the family-run company prides itself on excellent customer service and building solid relationships with their clients and dealers.
