DynAccess
DynAccess Ltd. is a new monoski company based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA. We combine innovative ideas, solid mechanical engineering, and manufacturing experience, with a passion for seeing others succeed. We develop advanced outdoor equipment that offers greater independence and superior performance for physically disabled individuals and athletes. When Brian Kaplun was left paralyzed from the waist down after a mountain biking accident during his junior year in college, he thought his active lifestyle was a thing of the past. Joachim Grenestedt, Professor in Mechanical Engineering introduced Brian to adaptive skiing and he has progressed from an unsteady beginner to a gold medal winner in an adaptive skiing race. Now with a Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) certificate, Brian also teaches others as an adaptive ski instructor at Greek Peak Adaptive Snowsports in New York. When the DynAccess team with Joachim visited Brian, they have noticed several design flaws in the monoskis currently available on the market. The DynAccess team refined conventional monoski designs by utilizing their solid mechanical engineering knowledge and skills, and built a state-of-the-art custom-made monoski for Brian. his prototype has been extensively tested at various ski venues in the Eastern USA, with notable results. DynAccess Monoski Torqueis a refined model of the prototype. It is a high-performance racing monoski that will restore independence to active individuals like Brian who won't let their disability come between them and the mountain. The Monoski Torque leverages the strength of the skier to offer greater speed and mobility for advanced and beginner skiers alike.
