American School of Brasilia

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the American School of Brasilia or, as the school is commonly referred to, EAB. We have been serving the community in Brasilia with an international curriculum for almost sixty years. As the school mission states, we are committed to inspiring our students to be lifelong learners who remain inquisitive and curious problem solvers as they become principled future leaders. Our ultimate goal is an EAB education will make a difference not only in the lives of each of our students but to the world as a whole--hence our vision statement "to positively impact the world..." The school uses American curriculum standards and benchmarks with an international perspective and a college preparatory level of rigor. The provision of a modern, 21st century education, in which the development of knowledge, skills, and social and emotional capabilities all have equal value, is fundamental to all that we do. Graduates of EAB will be capable, competent, collaborative and confident young people who are well ready to take their place in the world. EAB has also a great sense of community where relationships matter. Brazilian, American and international cultures are celebrated, and the diversity of our community is embraced with compassion, respect and acceptance. EAB is proud to offer three rigorous diplomas - American, Brazilian, and International Baccalaureate (IB) - in an environment that promotes the holistic education of each child through a differentiated approach. The center of EAB's outstanding educational program is its teaching staff, selected for excellence from across the globe. Over half of our teaching staff are from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom, and the other half is recruited from the very best public and private schools in Brazil.
