EarthUp is a recommendation engine. Our product pairs user personalities with issues that matter to them to drive environmental products, rebates, incentives and services that support the actions and ...topics that our users care about. We couple this with incentives and cash made available by utilities and governments to reduce emissions, traffic, energy, waste, and water to make the process easy and cheap for users. To reduce water consumption, we might recommend one consumer install a new low-flow showerhead, where we recommend another consumer chose products that use less water during production. To reduce energy consumption, we may communicate that installing a smart thermostat will improve the comfort of their home to one customer, and we may communicate that a smart thermostat will save money to another customer. When you talk to individuals about the environment everyone has topics and issues they care about. In order to drive action, we need to make the environment a topic that isn't polarizing but instead relates to individuals' wants and needs. Our product focuses on transparency and shows the direct impact of users' actions. By doing this we create a flywheel where the more individuals use our product, the more impact they make, the more products and services we have in our ecosystem, the more impact individuals can make and so on. We allow users to grow their positive impact by sharing and competing. The goal is to create communities that thrive by helping one another reduce and track their impact.
