European Board of Urology
The European Board of Urology (EBU) is a section office of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). EBU's objectives are to study, promote and harmonise urological training in Europe - both on the basic and postgraduate level. We aim to achieve these objectives by the following means: Setting educational standards for training institutions and the maintenance of such standards. Identifying minimal requirements for urology training and publish a European Curriculum. Defining rules for accreditation of educational activities. Offering a systematic assessment for the recognition of quality, both for the individual and training institutions. For more than two decades we have been working towards achieving these aims and already today we see the results. All of our activities and programmes are well-established and are recognised internationally as a Mark of Excellence: Accreditation of basis Urological Training Programmes (Urological Training Programmes). Accreditation of Sub-Specialty Centres (Urological Training Programmes). Endorsement of activities related to Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development (CME & CPD). Certification of Fellows of the European Board of Urology (FEBU). The EBU seeks no legislative or executive power. It is our expertise that we are investing into the future of European urology.
