EC&S
Located in Birmingham, Alabama, EC&S is a privately held general contractor formed in the late 1960's. The present management team has been in place since about 1980. Under its leadership, growth has been steady up to the present day, bringing EC&S from the ranks of specialty contractors to one capable of many types of projects. EC&S has been successful across several different process groups including foundries, steel mills, cement plants, pulp and paper, and specialty chemicals. In the beginning EC&S specialized in Electrical, Instrumentation, Process Control and Power Distribution for Industrial Projects. Success in these areas fueled our growth to being a general contractor however, EC&S still self-performs electrical and controls work along with piping work. Our history of success equips us to apply that success to your project. EC&S maintains a permanent staff of qualified personnel. This group is supplemented by qualified contract personnel, as required, to meet project workload and demands. Most of our staff has extensive field experience and several have direct operating experience in heavy industry. EC&S has found that by having a small but effective nucleus of engineering and well-trained CAD designers, in conjunction with state of the art equipment, we can utilize the these skills along with supplementary contract personnel, when needed, to produce quality designs leading to successful projects. EC&S has worked exclusively in the heavy industrial sector. EC&S' Project Managers, Superintendents and Foremen all have in-depth experience on a variety of projects and are thoroughly experienced in all phases of design/construct work. All our projects are carried out with safety being paramount, which our insurance modifier validates. Our rates are enviable and we intend to keep them that way. Our people have received safety training in multiple venues including IMSHA. We carry out our projects with the intent of meshing with the Owner's safety program to bring the project to a safe conclusion. EC&S is a merit shop contractor. On all EC&S projects, the project superintendent(s) and foremen, are permanent EC&S employees. These may be supplemented with other specially qualified individuals who are also permanent personnel. The numbers of permanent personnel assigned will vary depending upon the size of the project. The balance of the manpower required is hired on a project-by-project basis. EC&S maintains a current listing of personnel available in the project area which gives us access to ready sources of proven performers.
