ECI is a multi-disciplined consulting firm with over 39 years experience in industrial engineering & design. Offices are strategically located in Baton Rouge, LA, La Porte, TX and Houston, TX. ECI can provide project support for projects of varying sizes, ranging from conceptual process design through detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services, ranging from small maintenance / revamp projects to new grass-roots plant projects. ECI also has a professional services division which provides plant personnel staffing to support engineering, operations, and maintenance departments. ECI was founded in 1977 by three mutual friends, Dr. Charles Beals (chemical engineer), Mr. Charles Mooney (mechanical engineer) and Mr. Alexander Reddeck (instrument and electrical engineer). Locating in Baton Rouge, the three men set out to provide exemplary engineering and planning services to the petroleum, petrochemical and plastics industries, with the desire to provide expertise in conceptual design and to succeed while doing so. In 1991, ECI was purchased by Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding (MES) as a subsidiary. Since their start-up, ECI has grown from servicing only the local Baton Rouge area to providing engineering solutions for clients all over the globe. As a company, ECI continues to work towards maintaining its local and international reputation for project execution and quality. In 2016, ECI completed the acquisition of United Kingdom-based, Simon Carves Engineering, Ltd. Since 1878, Simon Carves Engineering, Ltd. has been recognized as the world's leading specialist engineering contractor for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA).
