Research and business consultancy is expanding at Edwards Hart and we are pleased to have now been appointed by the National Trust to work on their Building Review. This builds upon the work we have undertaken for the Federation of Master Builders in researching competency and the development of options for competency systems and also the draft conservation accreditation scheme for the Chartered Institute of Building. Edwards Hart Director John Edwards said: 'We believe that we are unique in the market place in being hands with our building and heritage consultancy work but also having the expertise to research and deal with management issues at all levels, which includes competencies and training'. John added: 'It's not just expertise we can offer, but experience of working in all these areas and a very rich resource of data and knowledge to draw upon'. Edwards Hart are planning to develop a Heritage Management division that can provide a unique service to the heritage sector which includes advice to heritage organisations on business strategies that balance commercial and heritage issue, organisational change, heritage visitor attraction management, facilitates and operational management, procurement and management of works and services as well as the management of direct labour workforces, management of safety, environmental management and also conservation planning involving tools such as management plans and heritage impact assessments. Edwards Hart Managing Director Sally Edwards said: 'These are all things we are doing now and are aim is to make sure that heritage organisations are aware of these services and the value that they can bring to the heritage sector'. Sally added: 'We believe that our unique blend of expertise means that we can provide the most well balanced solutions to managing our heritage in so many areas'.
