Elite Cottages

Elite Cottages is the brainchild of Scarlet Marketing who are based just outside Salcombe in South Devon. Scarlet Marketing have been involved in online tourism websites since 2003 and has launched several very successful sites including The Finest Group and The Handpicked Group of websites. Having the experience to see a niche in the market regarding luxury cottages we started to plan and develop Elite Cottages in June 2012. We noticed that although there were hundreds of websites that had directory type listings of cottages in a specific county or area and some who offered national coverage there were very few who only featured the very best cottages in the UK. We wanted to create a website portal that would eclipse any other cottage website of its type. When planning to build our website we had two major criteria in mind: How could we display our cottage advertisers in the best possible light. This was relatively easy we noticed that many other websites gave the cottage advertiser one thumbnail image in which to describe their cottage/s. We gave them a minimum of nine large images and no maximum. We noted that some cottage owners had videos that they had made them of their cottage or area we decided to offer to embed their video within their advert. We created a multiple link system within each advert meaning that the visitor could click to any part of the cottage owners website directly and was no forced to make contact or find out more via the website directory.
