ELLM
Based on research and child development standards, the Early Literacy & Learning Model (ELLM) is an approach to literacy education for pre-kindergarten through first grade students. It offers effective and well-organized classroom materials and environments, encourages family involvement and provides on-site professional development for teachers. The ELLM and ELLM/SEEDS (Skills-based Educational Experiences Delivery System) programs were created by the Florida Institute of Education (FIE) at the University of North Florida (UNF), which partners with the Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF), Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), Fun Time Early Childhood Academy and Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) to help implement the ELLM curriculum in Southwest Florida preschool and Head Start classrooms.
