Ellsworth Corporation was founded in 1973 with the goal of becoming the premier surety agency in Louisiana. The firm soon expanded its services through organic growth in the construction and marine insurance markets. After experiencing steady growth in our commercial insurance division, Ellsworth moved into the marine insurance sector in 1997 - and has continued the historic tradition of providing insurance protection for marine vessels that was originated by the iconic Lloyds of London in 1680. Over the past 40 years, our firm has undergone a number of changes and expansion of services. Following is a historic timeline of our corporation.
