East Lothian Osteopathic Practice

East Lothian Osteopathic Practice is based at Gullane Gym. The clinic has been running since September 2005 when it was established by Emma Bedford. There are currently two Osteopaths, Sarah Emslie and Laura Faithfull, at the Practice. Sarah Emslie is a qualified osteopath registered with the General Osteopathic Council. She graduated with a Master of Osteopathy degree from The British School of Osteopathy in London. She is a member of the British Osteopathic Association and the Scottish Osteopathic Society, helping her to maintain links with the osteopathic community and further her professional development via courses and seminars. It was whilst swimming competitively at a young age that Sarah first encountered osteopathy. She would often suffer periods of pain and discomfort. Osteopathy worked for her where other approaches had failed. Several years later, Sarah turned to osteopathy again when deciding on a change of career away from the world of finance. She retains a keen interest in sports, regularly enjoying golf and hill-walking/running. Laura Faithfull originally graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from Sheffield University in 2003. She went on to work in the Pharmaceutical Industry. In 2005 Laura started to train in Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy. To further develop her practical skills, Laura trained at the London School for the Treatment of Sports Injuries (a specialist school for Osteopathic Undergraduates) in 2007, gaining the APNT Sports Injury and Sports Massage Diploma. She recently left London to enjoy the great outdoors that Scotland has to offer. Laura has a broad background of sports, but currently she is enjoying her climbing and cycling the most.
