eQuizzle was founded in 2013 and borne out of conversations with people's own experiences working for companies that were diverse, cross-functional, and adapting to new economic realities. These companies tried to create engaged teams and a culture of collaboration, but frequently missed the mark and ended up spending money on team building tactics that fell short of the goal. Often the biggest challenge we saw when managing cross-functional teams and onboarding new employees (or for someone starting as a new hire) was creating a sense of trust and rapport inside teams. The traditional "beer and pub food" or eclectic team building exercises were often ineffective to get the desired results and can cost employers substantial amounts of money. A natural, inexpensive and fun way to help workplace teams integrate quickly was needed.
