Esbelli Evi

Owner, Suha Ersoz, graduated with a degree in law but decided to stay in Cappadocia after working as a tourism volunteer in the area. In 1987, he bought his first house, 150 year old abandoned stone house with many cave rooms, dating back to 3rd and 4th centuries, and started the renovations. He studied the local architecture to ensure the restoration has stayed as true to it's original as possible and he ended up training the stone masons and artisans in the area. The restoration was done in a careful manner in order to remain true to the historic architecture and character of the area. The decor is simple and authentic, providing a balance of modern luxuries in a homey cave setting. Suha opened in 1990 with 5 rooms as the first boutique cave hotel in Urgup and one of the first in Cappadocia. Over the past 30 years, he has bought, renovated, and restored the adjacent 15 other houses with cave rooms. He has connected individual houses through stairs and tunnels, combined rooms of the houses to make suites and today Esbelli Evi has 9 suites and 4 classic cave rooms. The service is guest-oriented; thoughtful and friendly. Every guest is treated like a regular and their satisfaction is our priority. The property is within walking distance to Urgup town center.
