"O Estado de S. Paulo" is one of the most traditional newspapers in the city of São Paulo still in circulation. Under the original name "A Província de S. Paulo", the first edition was published on January 4, 1875, still during the Empire. The newspaper grew and gave rise to "Grupo Estado" which is responsible for the launch of several journalistic fronts, among them, in 1958, Rádio Eldorado, in 1966, Jornal da Tarde, and in 1970, Agência Estado.
