Eugene Wine Cellars

Eugene Wine Cellars

Eugene Wine Cellars LLC. was conceived by Bruce Biehl in 1998, and in 1999 the "Urban Winery" was established in the Whitaker neighborhood near downtown Eugene, Oregon. The first vintages were bottled and labeled at the winery in the fall of 2001. Bruce has been growing wine grapes all over the state since his beginnings in the fall of 1978. His company AREA Inc. has been developing and managing hundreds of vineyard operations for other growers, wineries and our label ever since then. The b2 wine label was designed by Phil Cowles in 2004 and represents the initials of the three siblings Bruce, Brad, and Beverly Biehl. The Biehl brothers shared interest in agriculture, science and math spawned the phrase EWC = b2. We continue that passion with a global appreciation for the wine and culinary cultures that encompass the lives of so many around the world. In 2008 we opened our first wine bar in Eugene, Oregon and with that we have gone full circle with the concept, from "farm to fork". Using fruit we access primarily from vineyards we manage and control we have focused our attention primarily on Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. We also produce a white wine blend and a red wine blend under the label "Recess". The grape composition of these wines changes from vintage to vintage.
