EVIDENT also provides a "skip trace" or "locate" service to its clients who need to have people found. This is most often utilized by lawyers and their clients who are involved in various types of litigation and need to have someone found. This may a witness to provide testimony or a person who has a financial judgment filed against them. Sometimes these people may not wish to be found, but when provided with proper reasons and documentation, EVIDENT has a very high success rate. EVIDENT decides on a case-by-case basis whether to conduct a locate investigation for a client. In some cases we may locate a subject and notify them to contact the client, but we will not provide the subject's address to the client. In many cases we will not conduct a locate investigation if we feel the reason for location is suspicious.
