The roots of the firm can be directly traced to 1925 in Madrid, Spain, when it was founded by Carlos de Aldecoa Fernandez. In 1985, the founder's son, Carlos de AldecoaPereda moved the business to Houston, Texas where it remains headquartered today, under the leadership of the founder's grandson, Carlos de Aldecoa and a team of highly seasoned professionals. Today, Eximius is the third largest coffee importer in the United States with relationships with farmers in Central and South America, Africa and Mexico. Its products are sold in retail grocery stores throughout the United States under a variety of brand names including Cappio™.
