Explore Bryson City is the official website of the Swain County Tourism Development Authority (TDA) in North Carolina. The Swain County TDA was created by the State of North Carolina to oversee the collection and investment of occupancy taxes paid by people who stay overnight in commercial lodging establishments, such as hotels and motels, bed and breakfast inns, and short-term rentals such as Airbnb and VRBOs. The Swain County TDA is rebranding our marketing message throughout 2021 using "Explore Bryson City" to increase awareness of the Bryson City area destination brand and drive demand for overnight accommodations.
