FILM PLATFORM is an innovative collaboration between some of the leading filmmakers and sales agents around the world to bring the finest documentary films to an academic audience. Our international selection of films introduce new concepts, expose students to fresh perspectives, and enhance classroom discussions. Through these films people and ideas from the most far-flung, inaccessible corners of the world can be brought straight into the classroom to challenge and engage your students. FILM PLATFORM was designed to serve as a bridge between the film world and academia. The collection is meticulously curated by film experts and leading academics to showcase meaningful documentaries of social, political and cultural importance by some of the world's top international filmmakers. Our growing catalogue combine in-depth stories with out-of-the-box storytelling on a broad range of topics. In many cases, the films will be accompanied by a selection of study guides, as well as press kits, articles, and interviews with the filmmakers and their subjects. Our catalogue is continually expanding to include brand new films and cater to the needs of academics and institutions around the world. In fact, FILM PLATFORM is proud to work with an Academic Advisory Board to ensure that all of our films uphold the highest educational standards. As an added bonus, many of the filmmakers we work with are interested in engaging with viewers through Skype Q&A's and live interviews. We encourage all of our users to bring their discussions to the web, where educators and students can share ideas and insights, and many of our filmmakers will be watching the site, eager to jump into the discussion. All of our films are available in a variety of formats and licenses to meet your specific needs. They can be obtained for your library, with Public Performance Rights (PPR), as hard copies (DVD/Blu-ray), as digital files with a Digital Site License (DSL) and through streaming access.
