Finnish Fibreboard
Finnish Fibreboard produces and markets a wide range of LION hardboard products, the main end uses for which are the building, door and furniture industries. The Heinola and Pihlava mills together have a total annual production capacity of 140,000m3, which means that Finnish Fibreboard is the largest manufacturer of its type in Europe. Finnish Fibreboard's turnover in 2003 was approx 34 million Euros, the market share being Finland 45%, UK 30%, Scandinavia 12%, rest of Europe 13%. Finnish Fibreboard was founded in 1984 when Enso and Ahlström merged their fibreboard industries. From 1998, majority ownership of the Company has been in the hands of Management, with UPM holding a 17% share.
