Future In Our Hands

It is in deep sense of fulfillment that i announce to all our colleagues, well wishers and compatriots in the development arena the birth of another national Non Governmental organization (NGO) known as " Future In Our Hands The Gambia"(FIOHTG) To many this may not connote any real change as the name "Future In Our Hands" has been around for the past 34 years since 1979. The NGO has been renowned for construction of quality school buildings in every nook and cranny of the Gambia. The baton has now changed hands as we formalized our registration with NGO Affairs Agency and board when we signed on the dotted line on the 14th February 2013. In terms of available human resources within the organization staff capacity stays the same as there has not been any change in the staff complement so far. This has given us room for optimism and we feel re-assured that as an organization we will continue to deliver as expected. By viture of our new status a new Board of Directors has also been constituted by persons of caliber and prominence particularly within the civil society. The new board is composed of seven members ( Three female and four male) who have rekindled the hope in us that will steer the affairs of our organization to higher heights. The inaugural meeting of the new board will take place very soon. Finally i entreat all partners, peer organizations, the wider NGO fraternity and government to continue to work with us. On our part we make firm and unrelenting commitment to contribute our quota to national development through poverty alleviation.
