For more than 35 years fka has been an innovative engineering service provider for research and development tasks for the automotive industry and its suppliers with a focus on its key topics efficiency, safety and driving pleasure. It was founded as a spin-off from the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika) of RWTH Aachen University in 1981. Thanks to its very close collaboration with ika, we have access to a staff of more than 450 people as well as to numerous test bench facilities. Current research results allow fka to provide innovative ideas and solutions for individual customer questions. We deliver our worldwide customers with the full range of engineering services including conception and simulation, as well as design and engineering of prototypes, and their experimental testing. Flexibility, an adherence to schedules and the highest level of cost and quality awareness play an important role at the same time. The departments Chassis, Body, Drivetrain, Electrics/Electronics and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems collaborate closely with the cross section departments Strategy & Consulting, Acoustics, Vehicle Concepts, Thermal Management and User Experience in order to achieve an efficient and accident-free driving pleasure, by means of optimizing and cross linking of subsystems and vehicle components. Within our manifold activities we focus on pre-development and integration tasks for single components and complete systems as well as the holistic inspection of the vehicle with its multiple interplays.
