The Flint Housing Commission

The Flint Housing Commission is dedicated to helping its family of residents and the entire community by instituting the Section 3/ Community Support Department. The Goal of the Section 3 / Community Support Department is to provide support services for the Flint Housing Commission residents to become self-sufficient and help enhance their lives. In part our mission is to ensure special training, educational services, employment opportunities, community awareness and recreation. Since its inception the Section 3 / Community Support Service Department has insured that training and jobs were available for our residents to work with the contractors as they are updating and developing our complexes. We have successfully garnered grants from Ruth Mott Foundation and Community Foundation of Greater Flint for educational experiences and recreational activities for our youth. We have developed a Section 3 Memorandum Of Understanding with Genesee Co. Planning Commission, Michigan Works, Mott Workforce Development to increase awareness and opportunities for our residents. We have continued our partnership with with The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to feed over 25,000 families.
